Our annual Members' Day took place in Brussels in November and was very well attended. For the first time we re-structured the day to include two full training sessions.
The event began with dinner at the Royal Radisson hotel, and it was great to get together again with members.

The day itself began with a session on RFP's, one of the hottest topics in the relocation industry right now. Robert Fletcher of Sterling Corporate Relocation, gave an excellent presentation on the topic, focussing on why an RFP can fail. Research undretaken throughout corporate procurement in the US highlights a number of reasons, and Robert emphasised reason number one, through a thought provoking opening exercise designed to show the importance of knowing exactly what is being asked in the RFP - To take the test, click here.
A question and answer panel session followed, chaired by Robert including John Blakeway of Andrews Roe Consult, Nathalie Gazal of fousquare group and Ian Johnson of GMAC.
After lunch, Michael Gates of Richard Lewis Communications delivered a session on working in multi cultural teams, using the EuRA Board as a case study. After an introduction to cultural communication styles, Michael chaired a Board meeting. In advance of the session, each Board Member and Dom and Tad were asked to complete the Culture Active test, a tool used worldwide to analyse responses and identify cultural traits. The results were given to delegates who were asked to identify each Board Member according to his or her communication style! It was a thought provoking exercise and highlighted how diverse communication styles can be.
