President's Letter - Alex Ellis
"I feel that it is very important that each member has as much information as possible on the association as well as 'feel' part of it. Over the next couple of years it is our plan to take more things back to the membership, have the membership make more decisions as well as contribute more.
To do so we need to start with information. We send out our E-bulletin on an as needed basis, as well as our newspaper the EuRApean every other month. We would like not only to have your contributions, but we would like to ensure that it reaches as many people in our industry as possible. Presently it goes out to a mailing of approximately 1,300, which is a good start, but we would like to increase this.
Would it not be a good idea to have ALL of your staff members receive the EuRApean? Not only would they feel more integrated with the association, but can glean some knowledge on the idustry. Know what's going on, who's who, who's where and know the upcoming calendar dates. I would like to encourage each of you to send a list of names of your staff members with their emails to the EuRA office to Dominic (
dominic@eura-relocation.com) so that these can be added to the data base and everyone can receive the EuRApean.
Feeling part of a group is very important, and as many EuRA members are small companies, it might not be easy or practical to produce a newsletter internally, but each member can participate in the EuRA newsletter free of charge.
The Lisbon conference is looking good already. We are preparing the best one ever and we look forward to all getting together in Portugal's capital. Make sure you have the dates noted in your diary (18, 19, & 20 April 2007) and the invitations will be sent out at the start of October."
