The first month of 2007 has come and gone, and already this year promises to be the best yet for our association !
Our membership has peaked at an all time high of 261 and looks set on a continually upward trend; preparations are well underway for this year's EuRA conference to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, April 19th and 20th and the council has many new incentives and ideas to continue to grow and promote awareness of the association not only within Europe but in the worldwide arena of our global industry.

Our Lisbon Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday April 21st at the fantastic Quinta de Marinha resort. If you're not a golfer, this is the perfect chance to see whether this is the sport for you as we will be running a "golf clinic", a half day introduction to golfing skills with one of the resorts excellent professionals.

Even though most of us now carry PDA's, how many of these clever devices have lists of national holidays in multiple countries?

The city centre of Lisbon is split into three distinct areas;Bairro Alto & Estrela, Baixa and Avenida and Alfama. Each has its own character and architecture and its own very special feel.
Bairro Alto is one of the prettiest areas of Lisbon, and is situated on a hilltop, giving wonderful views across the city and down to the water. Translated the name Bairro Alto, means “High Quarter”. The area dates back to the 16th century, when it was planned and inhabited by the city’s wealthy elite and although it fell into decline during the 19th century, is again a fashionable are of central Lisbon.
