We could not have been more thrilled to welcome 465 delegates to this year’s International Relocation Congress in Vienna. When we started planning this event back in 2007, we had no idea that the global economy would take such a dramatic downturn. For the last four years we have built our conference on the basis of a 10-15% growth in delegate numbers and the planning for Vienna was no exception.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new expatriate research project in collaboration with Berlitz Consulting.Over the past three years we have been working to collate information on our industry and our members in order to build a reliable set of comparative data, but also to be used as an effective PR and Marketing tool for our wider industry.
The next stage in this project is working with Berlitz to collate accurate expatriate data. We need to know who is moving where, what their greatest challenges and successes have been and how they have adapted both as transferees and as families.

Dr John Potter has worked all over the world in industry, education, the music business and the military. Today John works with global corporations and governments as an expert advisor on leadership, strategy and more. John worked has a PhD based on research he undertook while working as an expert in hostage psychology, operationally involved in negotiations over kidnappings, siges and aircraft hijackings.

What an exciting time to introduce my company, Global LT, to the European Relocation Community, as 2009 is our 30th year in business, and we recently became a worldwide member of EuRA! I had the pleasure of attending my first EuRA conference in Vienna, and, I must admit it was an unforgettable experience and a wonderful venue in which to meet new people with such diverse cultural backgrounds.
