The Canadian Employee Relocation Council annual conference took place in Calgary in September and EuRA was delighted to once again be invited to attend.  This years’ theme, “The Power of Partnerships” could not have been more apposite as EuRA and CERC continue to work together in various arenas.  If you’ve attended the last three EuRA Conferences, you will know Steve Cryne, CERC’s dynamic and inspiring President and CEO.  Steve and his amazing team of staff and volunteers once again put together an exceptional conference with enlightening and informing sessions and keynotes.  The opening speaker, Nik Badminton, outlined the brave and scary new world we are about to inhabit.  Nik has spent years analysing future trends and brought his focus to bear on our industry.  We all know of the Disruptors of Silicone who have changed the world, but what is in store for mobility?  Growth!  And lots of it – following on from the Future Trends research EuRA and CERC undertook this year, Nik also sees the need for continued corporate mobility as companies change and adapt to new compliance, tech and AI innovations.  Throughout the event the sessions continued to look at where our industry is going and the consensus is far from united!  The closing keynote address by the thought provoking and hilarious Judy Urqhart had the audience laugh, cry and think.  We look forward to future partnership initiatives and Montreal 2018!
